Avishai Darash Quintet - ft. Antonio Moreno Glazkov, Itai Weissman, Jeroen Vierdag & Yoran Vroom
Het Avishai Darash Quintet is een gedurfde evolutie van Darash's veelgeprezen Quartet, waarin de levendigheid van live elektronica samensmelt met de rauwe energie van een akoestische groovemachine. Dit ensemble bestaat uit jazzveteranen uit Nederland die diepe collectieve ervaring en individuele flair meebrengen.
De kern van het geluid wordt gevormd door Avishai Darash's inventieve compositorische visie, gesmeed uit zijn eclectische muzikale wortels in Noord-Afrikaanse tradities, westerse klassieke muziek, Amerikaanse jazz en Levantijnse volksmuziek. Zijn piano—responsief, emotioneel en technisch verfijnd—verankert de groep en voedt haar verkennende geest.
De balans tussen elektronica en akoestisch samenspel wordt verzorgd door de meesterschap van Itai Weissman op de EWI, wiens organische synthtexturen naadloos verweven met de geaarde, ritmische kracht van bassist Jeroen Vierdag en drummer Yoran Vroom. Hun synergie legt een onverbiddelijke groovefundering neer.

Run Into The Apocalyps (R.I.T.A.)
Run into the Apocalypse moves through the shifting territory between acoustic and electronic sound, where live processing, samples, and digital textures intertwine with improvisation to create a constantly transforming sonic world. It embraces instability and transformation, turning noise and interference into compositional material. “Running into the apocalypse” becomes a metaphor for venturing into the unknown —an act of creative surrender where the boundaries between instruments, machines, and players dissolve in search of new timbres and new forms of listening. Long departed from the lands of a heteronormative musical cosmos and in perpetual search of an authentic voice, Rita Brancato inquires about emancipation of drums between jazz and electronic, with an open ear to natural timbres.
With her new project "Run Into The Apocalypse" she aims at putting together what she has been researching for two years at Codarts University's Master: how to expand the possibilities of a drum set with live electronics. What if a drum could express harmonic content? What if its sharp, fast-decayed timbric palette consisted of long sounds too? What if it could trigger words, chords, or a melodic sequence? What if it could reproduce pitched sounds and modulate them along a scale like a melodic instrument would do? What if it could sound like a hundred drums are being played at the same time? To do so, she and her hybrid drums pair up with two great horn players long established in the Netherlands, Andrea Leone on tenor sax and Massimiliano Dosoli on bass clarinet, in a collective exploration of the possibilities of processed sounds.

Flat Earth Society - MISSA ASINORUM
FES (Flat Earth Society Orchestra) is de ultieme ambassadeur voor een eigenaardig soort Belgische excentriciteit die de grens tussen veelkleurig surrealisme en slimme vaardigheid met opvallend gemak overschrijdt. Opgericht in 1999 door Peter Vermeersch zwerft deze sonische Juggernaut, met copiloot Peter Vandenberghe, door een muzikaal universum zonder grenzen of idiomatische regels. Onbetrouwbaar maar genereus. Uitdagend maar direct herkenbaar.
Peter Vermeersch & Peter Vandenberghe breiden de muzikale FES-planeet verder uit met een aantal nagelnieuwe composities waarbij lengte een cruciale rol speelt. In de loop van 2025 worden de stukken gerepeteerd, afgetoetst, gekneed, bijgeslepen, gespeeld en klaargestoomd voor opnames in januari 2026. Het album heet "MISSA ASINORUM" en wordt in datzelfde voorjaar uitgebracht.
